OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 09/10/2025, law enforcement attempted to serve a felony warrant on Zachary Thomas Albrecht at a home on Badger Lane in Mills. Albrecht barricaded himself inside the house. Around 1:15 p.m., he allegedly fired a single shot from within the residence. A nearly five-hour standoff ensued. Officers from Mills Police, Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, and Casper Police responded. Police never discharged firearms during the incident. At about 4:30 p.m., the standoff was resolved. Later, the coroner’s office identified Albrecht as the male who died during the standoff. It remains unclear how he died; no law enforcement gunfire is reported to have struck him. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigations is overseeing further inquiry.
