OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 09/16/2025, Milwaukee police responded to a welfare check on a person walking in and out of traffic on the south side. During the search, an officer driving a squad car struck a woman lying in the entrance of an alley in the 1500 block of South 20th Street. She was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. The officer was placed on administrative leave. The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team, led by the Waukesha Police Department, is investigating.
