On 09/16/2025, U.S. Marshals attempted to arrest 52-year-old Thomas Kelly at his residence in the 1100 block of Clarendon Avenue NW in Canton on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. As law enforcement approached, Kelly shot himself. A task force officer also discharged a weapon during the incident. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting the investigation.
