OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 09/15/2025, police responded to a shooting in the 600 block of West State Blvd. in Fort Wayne. After witness interviews several hours later, officers found a vehicle believed connected to the shooting and tried to pull the driver over. The driver fled, leading to a 17-minute pursuit. The chase ended near State Road 205 and Madden Road. The vehicle went off the road, and despite commands, the driver did not exit the vehicle. A self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head was later found, and a semi-automatic gun was discovered on the driver’s lap. Jorge Luis Granados Guzman was later found in the backseat, pronounced dead. The Allen County Coroner’s Office ruled his death a homicide.
