On 01/30/2025, Idaho State Police and Power County deputies attempted a traffic stop on a white 2019 GMC Terrain during a welfare check involving a male described as armed and distressed. The driver refused to stop, and officers escalated a chase along Interstate 86. The vehicle eventually exited onto U.S. Highway 30 and came to a stop. When approached, the man was found dead from suicide under police duress.
