OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 09/26/2025, around 3:30 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg police stopped a vehicle with no license plate on Eastway Drive. The driver was secured in the back of a patrol car while officers searched his vehicle. While detained, he experienced a medical episode. Medic transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Suspected narcotics were seized from his car. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation, and CMPD Internal Affairs will also review the incident.
