On 09/28/2025, a 40-year-old man drove a vehicle through the doors of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Hayes Road in Grand Blanc. He opened fire on the congregation, shooting 10 people and killing at least one. He then set the church on fire before being shot and killed by responding police officers.
