On 09/27/2025, at approximately 2:25 a.m., Memphis Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired on Northbridge Avenue near Ashwood Street. Vontorian Anthony pointed a gun at an officer, and another officer opened fire, striking him. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died. An officer was also injured.
