On 09/28/2025, Alec Greiger, 30, fatally shot convenience store owner Emad Alharbi, 31, at Mattydale Express on Brewerton Road. Deputies located Greiger at his residence six blocks away, where he was surrounded by law enforcement and negotiations were attempted. During the standoff, Greiger died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
