OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On September 12, 2025, an Erie police officer responding to a call drove through a red light at the intersection of West 11th and Sassafras streets with emergency lights activated but no siren. The patrol vehicle collided with another car driven by 41-year-old Matthew R. Zaborowski. Zaborowski was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries thirteen days later. The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash.
