OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On the morning of October 2, 2025, law enforcement responded around 6:00 a.m. to a report of gunfire at a residence on the 300 block of Mississippi Street in New Canton. Officers found a woman with a gunshot injury; she stated that Waligorski had shot her and threatened her parents. Deputies proceeded to the parents’ home on Monroe Street and discovered both deceased from gunshot wounds. A SWAT team later entered Waligorski’s home and found him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities are investigating the case as a double homicide and suicide.
