On October 2, 2025, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Yukon Police responded to reports of a man impersonating a police officer near Highway 66 and North Sara Road. When officers located the man, he pointed a gun toward them. Officers opened fire, striking him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation.
