Police responded to reports of gunfire at a home on the 5100 block of North 10th Street. James Harris shot a woman inside the house and then barricaded himself for several hours. He fired at officers and medics from inside. When police entered, Harris was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The woman escaped through a second-story window and was hospitalized with gunshot and fall injuries.
