Alsip police responded around 10:00 p.m. to reports of a woman making threats toward officers along Cicero Avenue. She made multiple 911 calls claiming she had killed an officer and was armed. Police traced her phone to Burr Oak Cemetery, where she fled, climbed a fence, and ran across Cicero Avenue. The woman pointed what appeared to be a firearm at officers, who opened fire and killed her. Investigators later determined the weapon was a replica Colt pistol. The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Unit is investigating.
