On 09/15/2025, Fort Wayne Police attempted to stop a vehicle connected to a homicide earlier that day in the 2300 block of Cortland Avenue. The driver refused to stop, and police escalated a chase lasting approximately 17 minutes. The vehicle went off the roadway, and the driver was found inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he died.
