On 10/09/2025, an off-duty Milwaukee police officer was involved in a minor vehicle collision near 49th Street and Mill Road. A confrontation occurred between the officer and the other driver, identified as 26-year-old Elijah Wilks. Police stated Wilks struck the officer in the face with a gun, and the officer opened fire, killing him. The West Allis Police Department is leading the investigation as part of the Milwaukee Area Investigative Team.
