OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/10/2025, Youngstown Police responded to a prowler call in the 100 block of Bennington Avenue. Officers located Arthur Tyrone Mitchell hiding behind a shed. During contact, Mitchell shot an officer in the arm, striking an artery. Officers opened fire and killed Mitchell. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized.
