On 10/09/2025, a joint fugitive task force involving D.C. Police and the U.S. Marshals Service attempted to serve an arrest warrant for 45-year-old Marco Moore, wanted for the murder of 33-year-old Maurisha Singletary in a domestic violence case. Officers located Moore inside an apartment in the 1300 block of Girard Street NW in Columbia Heights. When they approached, Moore fired at officers, and they opened fire in response, killing him. No law enforcement officers were injured.
