OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/08/2025, Pennsylvania State Police responded to reports of a retail theft at a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Guilford Township. The individuals fled in a van and continued driving southbound on Interstate 81. Police deployed spike strips, disabling the vehicle. Two female occupants exited, while a man inside reportedly fired toward troopers, injuring two of them. Officers opened fire and killed him. Both injured troopers were airlifted to a hospital, with one later released and the other remaining hospitalized.
