OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/15/2025, Portland police responded to a call of a wanted individual barricaded inside a garage on Southeast Sherrett Street. After hours of attempted negotiations, officers deployed irritant gas. The suspect fired at least one shot during the standoff but refused to surrender. Around 7:15 p.m., members of the Special Emergency Reaction Team entered and found the suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers discharged their weapons. The suspect was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
