OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 10/16/2025, a deputy from the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office and a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper responded to a domestic violence report at a residence near State Road 73 and County Road O in Wautoma. Police said Timothy Lehman was standing outside and retreated into the home and fired at the deputy. The deputy opened fire. He barricaded himself inside. Tactical teams from Portage County and Stevens Point/Plover responded to assist. After negotiations failed and gunshots were heard inside, officers entered the home and found him dead. The Wisconsin Department of Justice is conducting an independent investigation.
