On 10/17/2025, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on the 600 block of Hickory Dale Drive in St. Charles. Police said they found a man and a woman on the front porch struggling, and the man was armed with a knife. Officers ordered him to drop the weapon. The woman attempted to move away, and the man advanced toward police while holding the knife. Officers opened fire, killing him.
