OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/06/2025, deputies from the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported fight between brothers at a home on the 7600 block of Richardson Landing Road in Drummonds. When officers arrived, 52-year-old Fredrick Payne fled on foot. Deputies chased him, and under unclear circumstances, the situation escalated and Payne was shot and killed. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation.
