OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

Around 11 p.m., Goodyear police received a license plate reader alert about a stolen vehicle near Interstate 10 and Dysart Road. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot near Dysart Road and Van Buren Street and approached. Police said the driver, identified as 19-year-old Christian Rosas, exited the vehicle and attempted to run. During the pursuit, Rosas displayed a handgun, and police opened fire, killing him. A firearm was recovered at the scene. The West Valley Incident Response Team and Peoria Police Department are investigating.
