OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Around 10:16 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police attempted to serve an arrest warrant on a 62-year-old Carbon County man at the Super 8 Hotel on Airport Road in Allentown. Police said the man ran into a hotel room, barricaded himself, and refused commands to surrender. The Allentown Emergency Response Team arrived and attempted negotiations. After forcing entry into the room, officers found the man dead from a gunshot wound. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office is investigating the cause and manner of death.
