OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On October 21, 2025, police in Carrollton identified 28-year-old Jomaar Lee Davis as the suspect in the fatal shooting of his 24-year-old girlfriend, Briana Casto, at a home on the 4600 block of North Josey Lane. Investigators used cell phone tracking to locate Davis in Van Alstyne, about 40 miles north, where officers surrounded his vehicle. Negotiators attempted to make contact, but a single gunshot was heard during the standoff. Davis was found with a self-inflicted wound and later pronounced dead. Multiple agencies responded, including SWAT units from Grayson and Collin Counties. The Carrollton Police Department continues investigating the homicide.
