OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On October 29, 2025, Salt Lake City Police officers responded to a report of an assault at the intersection of 2100 South and 300 West. When officers arrived, they encountered a man armed with a rock who threw it at two officers. Officers opened fire, striking the man. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. One officer sustained minor injuries. The West Jordan Police Department is conducting the independent investigation.
