On October 29, 2025, an Arkansas State Trooper attempted to stop a red Infiniti traveling eastbound on Interstate 30 near mile marker 133. The driver refused to stop and accelerated to speeds over 130 miles per hour, weaving through traffic and exiting onto a service road off McDaniel Drive. The vehicle struck another car, crashed into heavy equipment, and burst into flames. Two people inside were killed at the scene. The driver was ejected, hospitalized, and later arrested. The other motorist was not injured.
