OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On October 30, 2025, around 12:10 a.m., deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Circle K convenience store on Chambers Road after reports of a man acting erratically and harassing customers. When deputies arrived, Zachary Ward, 28, reportedly attacked one of them with a screwdriver. The deputy opened fire, striking Ward, who died at the scene. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation.
