OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On November 2, 2025, a man was shot and killed by officers of the Denton Police Department following a standoff in a north-Denton neighborhood near the 1300 block of Oxford Lane. Police arrived around 3:55 a.m. after a 911 call reporting a man shooting at unoccupied vehicles. The responding officers established a perimeter and attempted communication, but the suspect continued firing toward officers. Officers returned fire. The man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
