On 11/04/2025, a Midwest City police officer attempted a traffic stop that escalated into a pursuit. Police said the driver, identified as 49-year-old Brice Lajuan Edwards, continued driving at high speed through city streets. Officers performed a tactical vehicle intervention maneuver on Southeast 15th Street near South Air Depot Boulevard. Edwards’s vehicle spun out and struck another motorist who was stopped in traffic. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. The officer who conducted the maneuver has been placed on paid administrative leave pending investigation.
