OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 11/05/2025, an officer with the Niagara Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on U.S. Highway 141 near the Wisconsin–Michigan border. The driver allegedly did not stop and accelerated at a high rate of speed. The vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with a commercial truck. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation opened an officer-involved death investigation with assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Niagara Rescue, and the Niagara Fire Department.
