On 11/09/2025, New Jersey State Police escalated a police chase near Exit 11 on Interstate 280 in Orange. The vehicle stopped and one person fled on foot. During the foot chase, police shot the man in the head. Two other occupants were taken into custody nearby. Police have not disclosed why they chased the man with apparently multiple la enforcement agencies and what prompted the fatal shot. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating the incident.
