On 11/10/2025, officers from the Dickinson Police Department responded to welfare check calls regarding a 34 year-old man who had made suicidal comments. He was located near the west parking lot of CHI St. Alexius Health Emergency Room. The man reportedly fired a gun before officers arrived. An officer perceived an immediate threat and fired at the man, who was struck and pronounced dead. No officers or bystanders were injured.
