On 11/08/2025 a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Colonial Heights Police Department along The Boulevard in Colonial Heights traveled into Petersburg. The vehicle lost control on Marshall Street and crashed into a tree, ignited into fire, and spread to a nearby home. The front-seat passenger Demetrius Harris died at the scene. Two other back-seat passengers were hospitalized with serious injuries.
