OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 11/22/2025, officers attempted a traffic stop on a gray Cadillac in Buena Park. The driver continued driving and the chase entered San Diego County along Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton. Police reported that the man left the vehicle while holding a firearm and moved into a brush area. Officers surrounded the location and opened fire. The man was taken into custody with major injuries from gunfire and died afterward. Police reported they recovered an unserialized firearm at the scene.
