On 11/24/2025, Dallas police responded around 2 a.m. to a disturbance at 2026 Commerce Street in the downtown entertainment district. Officers found multiple people shot inside the location. Police encountered Kedric McDonald holding a firearm and shot him during the confrontation. McDonald died at the scene.
