OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 11/30/2025 police escalated a chase involving a white SUV that began in Butler County and continued across multiple roads into Allegheny County. The vehicle entered Interstate 279 southbound in Ohio Township at high speeds. It lost control and overturned off the side of the highway. After the crash police confronted the occupants and opened fire. One passenger was struck by police gunfire and later died at a hospital. Three others were injured in the crash. The investigation is being handled by Pennsylvania State Police.
