OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 11/26/2025, a license plate reader flagged a stolen U Haul truck and officers attempted a stop. A man identified as forty one year old Anthony Sesmas ran from the vehicle and refused commands. Police escalated a chase to 89th Avenue and Peoria Avenue. Officers reported that he displayed what they believed to be a firearm and they opened fire and struck him. Sesmas was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later stabilized. Police stated he had felony warrants and will face new charges.
