On 12/05/2025, a man entered a clothing store on Springfield Avenue in Irvington and attempted to rob it. During the attempted robbery, he shot and killed a female victim inside the store, sending shoppers and employees fleeing into the street. Police quickly responded and found the armed man barricaded inside. As officers closed in, the man shot himself. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
