OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/05/2025, deputies from the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office responded to an apartment on the 1400 block of 10th Avenue North after Alice Nesdahl admitted on a 911 call that she was holding a man hostage. Negotiations failed as Nesdahl refused to cooperate and at one point raised a knife toward the hostage’s neck. Deputy Cameron Bridger entered the apartment and fired four shots, fatally striking Nesdahl. She was transported to a hospital and later died. The hostage survived, and the incident is under investigation. Neighbors reported hearing yelling, door kicks, and gunshots during the event.
