On 12/04/2025, officers in Sandy Springs responded to a report that a woman had been assaulted while walking her dog. Police located La’Andre Thomas at a bus stop. Police stated that Thomas reached for a handgun at his waistband and an officer opened fire. Thomas was taken to a hospital and died. He had previously played football for the Memphis Tigers. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the case.
