On 12/06/2025 officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving threats toward a woman. Martin Martinez Sr left the home before contact was made. Officers located his vehicle and stopped him near Tremont Boulevard and Mount Mercy Drive. During the encounter officers shot him multiple times. He was taken to a hospital and died. Family later stated he was grieving the earlier killing of his son and was experiencing emotional distress.
