On 12/09/2025, Greenville County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported assault at the Poinsett View Apartments in Greenville. During the response, deputies encountered Johndy Lading Rodriguez, age 29. Under circumstances that have not been fully detailed by authorities, a deputy opened fire and struck Rodriguez. He died at the scene. The Greenville County Coroner ruled the death a homicide.
