OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/09/2025, police officers and sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a reckless driver on Highway 412 near Mooreland, Oklahoma. Officers located the vehicle stuck in a ditch and attempted to contact the driver. During the encounter, police stated that the man fired a weapon toward law enforcement. Officers opened fire, striking the 43-year-old man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation into the shooting.
