OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/09/2025, Mooreland police officers and Woodward County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a reckless driver on Highway 412 near Mooreland, Oklahoma. Officers located the vehicle stuck in a ditch and attempted to make contact with the driver. Police stated that the man fired a weapon toward law enforcement. Officers opened fire, striking the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation into the shooting.
