On 12/13/2025, a Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver did not stop and police escalated a chase. During the pursuit, the fleeing vehicle entered the intersection of Stoakley Road and Route Four and collided with a Honda driven by an adult woman. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was taken into custody. Authorities are investigating the pursuit and crash.
