On 12/20/2021 Patrick Enos Jr., father of four who enjoyed hunting, fishing and repairing cars, ran a red light and was speeding when he collided with another driver on Highway 11 near Kipimana Street on Hawai‘i Island. Enos’ family believes that a police pursuit of his vehicle was a major contributing factor to the crash and that the chase should have been terminated under existing pursuit policies. Investigations remain ongoing and the family has retained an attorney to determine police liability. Four years later, the family is searching for answers. Police reportedly will not admit they chased him and caused the fatal crash but eyewitnesses confirmed this.
