On 12/12/2025, a police pursuit in Titusville began after a vehicle failed to stop for officers and continued at high speeds through local streets. The chase involved a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu that had been struck by stop-sticks deployed by law enforcement. The vehicle headed south on Barna Avenue toward Nicklaus Drive when it left the roadway and collided with a palm tree, a fence, and a sign before coming to rest. Florida Highway Patrol reported the driver was taken to Parrish Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries. The investigation into the pursuit and crash is being handled by Florida Highway Patrol. The driver was later identified as 35-year-old Darrius Bentley of Titusville.
