OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/14/2025, Greeley police responded to a disturbance in the 4700 block of West 29th Street involving a man armed with a weapon who had barricaded himself inside a residence. Officers issued a shelter-in-place alert for nearby residents and attempted negotiations with the man for several hours. After an approximately eight-hour standoff, SWAT officers entered the home and found the 53-year-old man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Weld County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity following notification of next of kin.
